Pages to Pirouettes

More Dancing Days fun is all cued up and ready to go here at Please Touch Museum. This weekend we are celebrating ballet! The dancers of Pages to Pirouettes will be joining us for performances on Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. This year they will be performing the ballet Copelia.

Watch the story brought to life through a combination of reading and dancing. Come check out all the fun this weekend!

Take the Fun Home!

In ballet, the dancers act out the story using only their bodies. Can you use your body to tell a story? You can put on your own production at home! Just pick out your favorite book and have someone read the words. You can dance at the same time to express what is happening in the story.

Parents and adults, you can ask your child open-ended questions when the story is finished, or even right in the middle of all the action. Here are some questions to get you started: What was your favorite part in the story? How do you think your favorite character felt at the beginning of the story? Why do you like this story?

Most importantly - have fun!

We're all about learning through play.
